Mack Winston and The Reflections definitely reflect the over-the-top, pompous glam of '70's era music and for the most part they play their parts very well, serving up solid hooks ready for injection into the 8-track player of a 1976 Chevette. Amidst the conscious deconstruction of modern "indie" rock, a dose of more straightforward rock can seem refreshing, but it's unclear whether this is merely polished imitation of a bygone era or another example of "everything old is new again".
