For this Groupee Session, The Sweet Hurt performed three songs from their new EP, In the Shade of Dreams, as well as one song ('Take This Away') from their last record, Everyday Mistakes.  Recently featured as one of our Buzz Bands, The Sweet Hurt is the solo project of Wendy Wang, one of LA’s most liked, most active musicians.

The new EP and much of the catalog of the The Sweet Hurt lives very much in the realm of dreams, song that float like melancholy lullabies.  For this session, Wendy included Jonathan Price (on keyboards) of another fine Los Angeles band called I Make This Sound, as well as John Graney (on guitar and backing vocals), who produces some outstanding vintage-sounding music as The Californian.  The sound was completed with standup bass, cello, and violin, providing a rich tapestry for these beautiful songs.
