The World Record is led by Andy Creighton, whose songs are power pop gems of the first order.  The rest of the band is comprised of members of another outstanding group, The Parson Red Heads.  Creighton's songs are reminiscent of Fountains of Wayne and, like that group, his melodies are instantly memorable, insanely hummable.

In person, the group seems close-knit and carefree.  For our session, Creighton wore a Le Switch shirt, which seemed particularly apt.  Le Switch is another LA band and, though the two bands are not musically similar, they are definitely both uncommonly personable, fun, and genuine in person.  (We'll have more on Le Switch soon, by the way.)

Fans of classic pop melodies (think Big Star, The Beatles, Sloan, XTC) will drool over The World Record.  Definitley check out their superb record, Guitars Forever.
